چکیده

We report a synchronously-pumped femtosecond diamond Raman laser operating with a tunable second-Stokes output. Pumped using a mode-locked Ti:sapphire laser at 840-910 nm with a duration of 165 fs, the second-Stokes wavelength was tuneable from 1082 - 1200 nm with sub-picosecond duration. Our results demonstrate potential for cascaded Raman conversion to extend the wavelength coverage of standard laser sources to new regions.

Laser Micro-Raman Spectroscopy of CVD Nanocrystalline Diamond Thin Film

Laser micro-Raman spectroscopy is an ideal tool for assessment and characterization of various types of carbon-based materials. Due to its special optical properties (CrN) coated stainless steel substrates. NCD films have been investigated by laser micro-Raman spectroscopy. The fingerprint of diamond based materials is in the spectral region of 1000-1600 cm-1 in the first order of Raman scatter...

Intracavity Raman conversion of a red semiconductor disk laser using diamond.

We demonstrate a diamond Raman laser intracavity-pumped by a red semiconductor disk laser (~675 nm) for laser emission at around 740 nm. Output power up to 82 mW of the Stokes-shifted field was achieved, limited by the available pump power, with an output coupling of 1.5%. We also report wavelength tuning of the diamond Raman laser over 736 - 750 nm.

Monolithic diamond Raman laser.

A monolithic diamond Raman laser is reported. It utilizes a 13-mm radius of curvature lens etched onto the diamond surface and dielectric mirror coatings to form a stable resonator. The performance is compared to that of a monolithic diamond Raman laser operating in a plane-plane cavity. On pumping with a compact Q-switched laser at 532 nm (16 μJ pulse energy; 1.5 ns pulse duration; 10 kHz repe...

In situ high pressure-temperature Raman spectroscopy technique with laser-heated diamond anvil cells

We describe an in situ high pressure-temperature Raman technique for studying materials in laser-heated diamond anvil cells using a Nd:YLF laser s1053 nmd as the heating source and an ion laser as the Raman exciting source. Here we introduce the method of laser heating transparent samples using a metallic foil (Pt,Re, or W) as the laser absorber (internal heating furnace) in a diamond cell. The...

Average power and brightness scaling of diamond Raman lasers

Most important research results that explain why the work was done, what was accomplished, and how it pushed scientific frontiers or advanced the field. Diamond holds substantial promise as a high Raman gain laser material with outstanding power handling capability, yet despite this the highest reported output power from a diamond Raman laser prior to this project was approximat...
